The Division of Laboratory Medicine is a part of Medical Services in Region Skåne, one of 20 regions or counties that make up the Swedish health care system. The division has 1 200 employees and consists of six departments; Environmental and Occupational medicine, Clinical Genetics and Biobanks, Clinical Immunology
and Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Microbiology and the department of Clinical Pathology.
Our diagnostic work is divided into 18 processes, each responsible for diagnostic and developmental work in their
area of expertise. We are currently in an expansive phase with an ambitious implementation of molecular pathology and a digitalisation that, after a longer start up period, now is gaining speed.
We actively participate in quality assurance efforts and in creating best practice guidelines at a regional as well as at a national level and have accredited selected areas of our diagnostic services.
We have a close collaboration with academia and participate in education of undergraduate students, tutoring of residents and in both research collaborative efforts and pathology driven research. We have a structured framework for a continuous improvement of the department and our clinical services.
Essential requirements:
Experienced dermatopathologist with a European dermatopathology board certification and with a documented academic experience of research in the field of dermatopathology. A language proficiency in Swedish on a C1 level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is a requirement.
Desirable requirements:
We highly value collaborative and communicative skills and prioritize pathologists that can be assessed to fit in with the current dermatopathology team.
A 6 month trial employment as specified by the National Board of Health and Welfare, aiming at a Swedish medical license. When satisfactorily fulfilled, the trial employment is to be followed by a bespoke residency in clinical pathology. This will allow for a speciality license in clinical pathology and an open ended, full time employment as a senior dermatopathologist.
