Jefferson Wells is seeking a skilled and motivated Commodity Buyer to join our dynamic team in the automotive industry. As a Commodity Buyer, you will play a critical role in managing our supply chain and ensuring the availability of high-quality automotive components at competitive prices. If you have a passion for the automotive industry and possess strong negotiation and analytical skills, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply chain for automotive components.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Production, to define component requirements and ensure supplier compliance.
• Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations, contract negotiations, and issue resolution.
• Continuously monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to proactively mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis, supplier consolidation, and process improvements.
• Analyze supplier performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, quality etc.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Commodity Buyer or in a similar procurement role within the automotive industry.
• Deep understanding of automotive commodities, such as metals, plastics, electronics, or powertrain components.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings and driving supplier performance.
• Knowledge of strategic sourcing methodologies, market analysis, and supply chain management principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and systems for data analysis, supplier evaluation, and contract management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information and influence decision-making at various levels.
