Position Description

Within Vehicle Purchasing, we, Vehicle Dynamics team, are looking for a Senior Commodity Buyer - Segment Leader Braking System & Air Management, preferably located in Gothenburg (Sweden) with travels required occasionally. We are accountable for all Wheel & Tire, Brake & Friction Material, Braking System and Air management business in Europe with interesting activities connected to Automation and Electromobility Projects.

As we are a truly global and diverse company, most of your meetings and emails will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. To qualify for the position, you have some years of purchasing experience, preferably in automotive, with adequate academic education: Master of Science or Business Administration.

WHAT is the job?
Build/update segments strategies for Braking System and Air Management business by being part of the early phase investigations with our engineering teams
Drive the development of the segment strategy and purchasing process to support Volvo's strategic objectives
Strengthening Volvo's competitive advantage by understanding the business needs and the supplier market
Manage and develop the supplier base, using categorization, segmentation, evaluation, etc. in order to establish the appropriate levels of relationship
Manage the segments in a QDCFTSR mindset
Drive Strategic line activities with global Team
Prepare and report Key Performance Indicators development to key stakeholders
Drive optimization, synergies and share best practices within the Volvo Group
Negotiate upcoming requests and contracts with suppliers
Actively contribute to the team development, by bringing improvement ideas, support your peers, coaching buyers when relevant, sharing good cases
