hela Sverige We are now looking for an employee in the area of Combustion CFD simulations for Powertrain Engineering. We are faced by the challenges to further improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. This includes further improvement of the Diesel engine, adaption and optimization for new truck and powertrain concepts, including alternative fuels and hybrid drivelines. Work description:
As an engineer in the area of combustion simulations you will be involved in the design and analysis of new engine combustion concepts and technologies. CFD will be one of your main tools. You will analyse simulation results, recommend improvements and design solutions, perform concept studies and present the results to the internal customers. We work in teams with calibration engineers and designers to create the best system solution.
Skills:
Master degree in Engineering or equivalent education, with combustion and fluid dynamics theory
Experience of combustion and engine simulations in product development teams
Experience from working with CFD with spray and combustion in our main tools (Star, ANSA, Converge)
Experience from 1D simulations (e.g. GT Power) is a merit
Experience in programming, e.g Matlab or Python
Good knowledge in English, spoken and written
Strong ability to work in cross functional teams with strong communication and coordination skills
Committed, self-driven and engaged and ability to lead the virtual development work
We expect you to be active in cross-functional collaboration with the team for planning, testing and for validation resulting in common conclusions to get maximum output for the customer. We think that you are an analytical person with a strong ability to work in teams as well as being able to work independently. You should be open for development to take on all different task like planning, testing connected in the system development. We would also like you to be committed, self-driven and engaged to be able to contribute to our future development with the ambition to become a leader in virtual and system development.
About the Simulation team
The group System Analysis & Simulation consists of 11 simulation engineers within 3 different areas; 3D CFD analysis, 1D flow system analysis and Virtual test rig simulations. The overall mission is by virtual tools minimize fuel consumption (CO2) and emissions and improve features and quality. You will be a key contributor to the next generation outstanding Powertrains from Volvo Group.
