Section Physical Design Modeling Studio is primarily responsible for creating physical design models and prototypes in close cooperation with project managers, designers, studio engineers and suppliers.
The base in most of our models are clay or other model material, produced via NC milling and developed by skilled clay modellers by hand together with the designers and rest of the team.
The models are crucial to the decision-making process for the management team. The department consists of four groups Concept Modeling & Model Support, Physical Exterior Modeling, Physical Interior Modeling and Colour & Material Modeling. In total the department consists of 25 permanent employees and currently around 20 consultants. Right now we are expanding our Physical Modeling team with a Senior Clay Modeler, which can be an opportunity for you!
We want to strengthen our team with a new experienced clay modeler. You can expect a challenging and creative work where you will work together with the team and the designer to develop our new designs, mainly in clay. You would have to use your skills in clay modeling and prepare the models for both internal and external reviews. The work requires solid experience in clay modelling and related techniques connected to this. Skills in other methods and materials will be an advantage. We are all the time faced with high demand of flexibility, problem solving and creativity.
Who are you
We want to strengthen our team with a new experienced clay modeler. We are looking for you who has a genuine interest in design and especially cars. We believe you have a natural talent and expertise in shaping and modeling, the ability of creative thinking and have a will to make your own initiatives.
You need to be good communicator, due to strong collaboration in your team and with designers. Hence we also believe you are a good team player as you understand the meaning and power of collaboration and sharing the knowledge, expertise and ideas.
Your main responsibilities
* Together with our designers develop new designs in clay, both exterior & interior
* Together with our designers make show models for reviews, both exterior & interior
* Make models to support critical decisions for our managers
* Take responsibility for result in assigned project - both models & team members
Qualifications
* Design education or other relevant background that gives you expertise of educated modeler
* At least 5 years' experience from clay modeling in Automotive industry
* Knowledge regarding Design & Prototypes, as well as Scanning & Measuring
* Hard modeling skills and experiences are desired
* General knowledge in computers
* Fluent in English, both written and spoken
* Driving license "B", hence be able to drive and better understand our products
