www.esab.comAs a main group in Global R&D Filler Metals, Research Center has a key role in achieving successful product development. It is done through research, method and tool development, advanced analysis work, welding, pilot production as well as customer support. The Research Center organization is designed to provide both short term solutions and long term know-how within welding metallurgy and welding applications/processes.
The Senior Chemist will be part of the Chemical Laboratory in Gothenburg. The Chemical Laboratory is a subdivision to our Research Center, where a wide range of materials including oxides, metals, ferro alloys and silicates are analysed. This is done using techniques like XRF, XRD, spark OES, ICP, combustion techniques and classical wet chemistry.

As Senior Chemist your responsibilities will be to:
• Have quality in focus.
• Make significant and innovative contributions by initiating, leading and supporting method development projects.
• Collaborate with and support the development team in product development projects.
• Collaborate with and support our Chemists in daily work.
• Cooperate with national and international laboratories and research bodies.
• Be a leading expert in your area that drive and support knowledge transfer within your expertise. The Senior Chemist is expected to independently keep on top of the latest discoveries within inorganic analytical chemistry.
• Report results in a clear and concise manner.
• Perform tests and analyses.
Who are you?
We believe that you have a PhD or Master degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a deep understanding and skills in either inorganic or physical chemistry. You have minimum 5 years of experience from the Chemistry, Steel or Mining industry. Mineralogy knowledge is a merit. You have a hands-on way of doing things and the ability to independently execute method development and experimental projects. As a person you are communicative, self-driven, open minded and innovative with a strong driving force to process and resolve issues in a timely manner. You successfully interact, build and retain good relations with our internal and external customers. You are comfortable in using IT tools and are proficient in both written and verbal communications in Swedish and English.
The position is placed in Gothenburg, Sweden. Occasional traveling is required.
