We are looking for a senior engineer for an open position in our team at Fluid and Combustion Simulation at Scania in Södertälje, Sweden. We perform simulations on internal gas and liquid flows in the combustion engine and aftertreatment system of our heavy duty engines. Most engines are compression ignited diesel engines but alternative fuels and spark ignition engines are also part of our work. Our group is responsible for simulation and calculation of components that affect gas exchange, combustion, fuel spray, aftertreatment, coolant and oil systems.
Qualifications
We hope you have prior experience in the use of some of our working tools.
• AVL Fire, Ansys Workbench (CFX/Fluent) or OpenFoam.
• ANSA and Spaceclaim are used for special treatment of our geometric data.
• Heeds or equivalent software for optimization/Design of Experiments.
• Catia V5 is used for CAD.
We require that you have a very good knowledge in at least one of the above mentioned CFD codes.
You should have around 4-10 years of experience in 3D flow simulation. Experience of compression ignited and/or spark ignited combustion simulation using CFD is preferential. Relevant research work in this area is of advantage.
We will emphasize on the following parts in your profile. Deep and documented knowledge in combustion engine related CFD simulation. Very good communication skills with a customer oriented focus. An ambitious mindset and internal drive to support our internal customers with quick and accurate results. Dedication to tasks dealing with standard work as well as groundbreaking method development. Internal combustion engine knowledge in any other area than simulation will be valued.
We believe you have at least a masters degree in the area of mechanical engineering or physics.
