The purchasing function within Volvo Car Corporation are two departments Direct Material (DM) and Indirect Purchasing (IDP).The Indirect Purchasing department has four sections. Machinery is one of these four. We work together with our stakeholders to create and deliver supreme value together with our suppliers. The group Tooling & Test equipment is one of three group's part of the Machinery section.
We are now looking for a senior buyer in the area of Test Equipment.
Main responsibilities
* Drive and develop the purchasing work within selected commodities.
* Responsibility for cooperation with the internal customers.
* Part in development and implementation of commodity strategies.
* Perform and lead commercial negotiations.
* Responsibility for market benchmarks and supplier evaluations.
* Daily administration work such as ordering, handling of agreements etc.
* Responsibility for optimizing the supplier base.
* Responsibility for identifying and implementing cost reductions in cooperation with suppliers and internal customers.
* Travelling between Volvo Car and suppliers sites to be part of technical and commercial meetings.
Desired qualifications
* Technical University education (or equivalent).
* Experience from Engineering & Commercial work (3-5 years)
* Experience from Commercial negotiations and legal knowledge.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in both English and Swedish.

* Experience from automotive projects or purchasing.
