Position description
We are looking for an experienced and driven buyer, who will be responsible for the scouting and development of suppliers for new and emerging technologies. You will work closely together with product development colleagues in early phases of technology development. The role will secure that Volvo Penta has the best suppliers and partners included in the very early stages. This is a unique opportunity to be part of the future and to really make a difference!
Responsibilities:
Be responsible for supplier scouting and early phase sourcing
Ensure purchasing early involvement in advanced engineering, technical development projects and innovations
Drive development of new technology purchasing strategies and ensure implementation
Negotiate and implement relevant contracts and development agreements
Manage the supplier relationships and performance (quality, delivery, feature and cost)
Perform competitor, market, and macro analysis
Important competences:
Solid sourcing and early supplier scouting experience
Genuine technology interest, ability to understand engineering vocabulary
Visionary mind set with a drive to develop and change
Good flexibility with a can-do attitude
Comfortable in business development with suppliers
Teamwork, network and collaboration skills
Good contract development skills
Strong strategic thinking
