Senior Buyer



Indirect Purchasing (IDP) is a global organization with highly skilled and motivated employees located in Sweden, China, USA, Malaysia and India.
IDP have the responsibility for procuring Non-Production Material & Equipment, Logistics, Machinery & Tooling, Professional Services, Marketing and IT within Volvo Car Group. At IDP, you are part of a global team with the mission to develop and maintain a world-class supplier base and deliver global sustainable value.
Ensuring the supply of Non-Production Material & Equipment - at the right cost, quality and technology.

The team Tooling and Test Equipment consist of 8 skilled buyers with various backgrounds and expertise who are now looking for a Senior Buyer to join us!

We are a multi-national team and frequently interact with our counterparts in both China and US and we communicate a lot in English.
The responsibility covers the purchasing of testing equipment used for engine, transmission, Battery lab, component testing incl. simulation systems as well as stamping dies, presses & press lines.
As Senior Buyer you are responsible for the daily business with our suppliers and cross functional stakeholder teams such as ME, R&D, Geometry, and Design.
You will report to Sr. Purchasing Manager of Tooling & Test Equipment - and we look forward to extend the team with yet another skilled and experienced buyer who enjoy working in a dynamic global environment.



What you'll do

You will lead/support cross-functional sourcing projects including activities of; preparation, execution, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection and contract signing
You will support the development of sourcing strategy and plan for your assigned commodity.
You will create, maintain & develop commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders.
You will develop and improve a world-class supplier base and Challenge status quo.
You will work towards individual & team targets and perform administrative tasks related to the job.
Each day will bring new challenges to the table but also a big possibility to develop and grow.



Do you fit the profile?

You have a university degree or equivalent experience.
You have preferable minimum 3 years of experience from a relevant Purchasing role and above listed sourcing activities.
You are fluent in English, written and spoken.
Comfortable in handle MS Office
Experience from Stamping or Test equipment, project management and the automotive industry is meritorious.
