Location: Stockholm, Sweden or depending on the agreement with the candidate

We believe we can achieve our vision by working together with key actors to identify and close the gaps based on reliable and relevant information. Therefore, getting information and strengthening the culture of data use where actual gaps from community to national level can be closed is what we deeply care about.
The very first solution we developed was a point of care eHealth solution where health workers used a mobile device (e.g. laptops or mobile phones) to collect data at the point-of-care delivery. We quickly found that in some regions it worsened the very issues we had set out to improve. Because so many of the areas where we work have unstable electricity, internet connectivity, security, and scarce resources, mobile devices could not be relied upon and sustained.
This meant that health workers had to do double work - collecting data on existing health management information system (HMIS) forms and entering the same information into the mobile devices.
After seeing these issues first-hand, we went back to the drawing board and developed a Smart Paper Technology Solution. This new use of technology blends the paper and digital systems and enables countries to have all the benefits of point of care eHealth Solutions. Read more about Shifo Solution here -
https://shifo.org/en/solution/.Shifo's solution is currently being implemented in Afghanistan, Gambia, Haiti, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. In these countries, for the first time starting from the year 1960 the Governments agreed to replace these big old registry books with something different that we have created. We designed our product in a way it can work in clinics without electricity, Internet connection and governments are able to sustain it. The solution saves 70% of administration time for health workers compared to the existing system, and still at the end key actors get reliable and complete data, automatically generated reports and performance indicators, which also can be used in the same conditions as the solution itself.

Key Functions and Deliverables
Senior Business Developer will ensure that the resource mobilisation strategy, both core and initiative-specific, is successfully implemented, including structuring instruments as needed and successfully negotiating with new donors. The Senior Business Developer will manage and develop partnerships with new donors, ensuring the successful negotiation of projects with new partners.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Strategy building and implementation, fundraising and donor relations:
Develop and reinforce the investment case for Shifo;
Strengthen and implement tailored fundraising strategies, to encourage investment in Shifo;
Build and manage relations with stakeholders, including multi-lateral donors, private sector representatives, civil society partners and other key influencers;
Identify, and engage with, key public and private donors, as well as influential constituencies and institutions;
Represent Shifo in selected forums, ensure an appropriate level of engagement of Director and other senior management;
Advice on and structure financing instruments as needed;
Initiate and negotiate agreements and renewals with multi-lateral donors, foundations and corporations;
Respond to donor requests in a timely manner and communicate issues to Shifo's management;
Track donor contributions and acknowledge when necessary.
Teamwork:
With other team members, contribute to team-wide tasks. Carry out projects assigned by the Director in accordance with the team objectives;
Help coordinate and elaborate detailed supporting documentation;
Serve as the focal point with specific teams (finance, programs, technology) whose inputs are critical to the resource mobilisation process and act as lead in the discussion on that topic.
Work Experience
Essential
Minimum of 5 years of track-record in fundraising and financing for international, public, financial or public-private institutions;
Familiarity with political and technical governmental decision-making processes;
Experience identifying and articulating strategic issues, trade-offs and priorities to provide sound advice;
Excellent analytical skills;
Established operational track record of excellence in achieving results.
Desirable
Demonstrated ability to structure financial instruments and navigate complex funding mechanisms;
Experience in the management of a portfolio of donors;
Experience in providing tailored fundraising strategies;
Experience in managing multi-lateral and bi-lateral partnerships.
Skills/Competencies
Essential
Excellent networking, representational, communications and negotiation skills. An ability to be proactive and persuasive;
Superior written and verbal communication skills in English with demonstrated ability to synthesise complex issues into effective oral and written briefs;
A track record in producing high-quality work on a variety of issues with short deadlines and make effective timely decisions;
Demonstrated ability to work across institutional boundaries with various teams, and utilise talent and expertise of team members in a productive way;
High degree of discretion, tact and sensitivity in dealing with internal and external clients and stakeholders at all level;
Excellent project management skills and the ability to drive fast-moving and complex projects.
Ability to adapt and work within a multicultural, multilingual, multidisciplinary environment;
Desirable
Understanding of both public and private sector perspective.
