The Global Audit Office (GAO) is an independent organisation within Volvo Cars, responsible for conducting internal business process and IT audits within Volvo Cars globally, and highlighting identified control deficiencies. It is also the responsibility of the department to support a sustainable control environment within the Group.
The mission of the Volvo Cars Internal Audit Department Global Audit Office (GAO) is to provide objective assurance and advisory services to management and the Board of Directors to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Group operations and assist the Group in achieving objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve business process execution, risk management, and governance.
We are now looking for a Senior Business Auditor to join the audit team. As the scope of the team is the Global control environment within Volvo Cars, the position requires both domestic and international travel. The team consists of six employees in Gothenburg and two in China. The responsibilities provide a positive atmosphere to develop leadership and communication skills as the audit findings are reported to senior management. You will have a possibility to create and expand your professional networks within Volvo Car Group as well as with external contacts.
Main responsibilities
• Planning and completing internal audits according to audit calendar
• Review existing procedures, controls and reporting systems and develop formal recommendations to management where improvements are warranted
• Conduct regular status meetings with the auditees to keep them updated on audit status and listen to their concerns
• Draft audit reports that provide the auditees with clear and concise contents and practical audit recommendations of corrective actions
• Review of corrective actions for identified process or control weaknesses, follow up to ensure that issues have been properly implemented by the operational management and that a sustainable control process have been established
Required qualifications
• University degree in Business Administration or equivalent
• Accounting experience required
• Extensive audit experience required
• Audit experience from companies in the finance and insurance sector
• Strong communication skills; effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations
• Skill in collecting and analysing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions
• Ability to use a computer with word processing, spreadsheet and other business software to manage audit documentation
• Planning and project management skills
• Fluent in English
