We believe in the potential of boardgames as social & creative tools. We design and publish boardgames in several areas, one of which is mainly makes "heavier" historical & scientific board games in the "hobby" category. We value a link to reality/science/history not only as a backdrop but also as a basis for game mechanic design. In our games we strive to achieve unscripted narrative experiences generated by the content and the players minds and interaction as they play. As we are growing our business we are now looking for an experienced and talented senior boardgame designer for this heavier style boardgames.
You are a multi-talented and expert game designer with the ability to adapt to various forms of content or systems design. You are capable of taking responsibility for realizing your design philosophies in the form of epic, engaging content.
You have long and proven experience in game design, a strong aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, boundless creativity, a strong gamedesign aesthetic, a long-standing passion for boardgames and extensive knowledge of boardgames in general and games in the style published by Ion Game Design in particular.
Requirements
Confident in working as part of the design group, and take responsibility for large features, systems, and content.
Collaborate with the other leads to ensure positive communication and problem solving between disciplines.
Confident as a part of production to assist, and provide feedback on, high level plans and schedules.
Partners with the Lead Game Designer to provide feedback and assist in career development for relevant parts of the team.
A minimum of 10 years' experience in game design, including senior or lead design experience on at least 10 shipped products
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Extensive content and systems design experience. Ideally someone who has creatively owned complete implementations from concept to delivery.
Able to work creatively in a demanding team environment
Absolute passion for playing and making boardgames
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Ability to work on site at our office in Stockholm Sweden
