In this exciting role as Senior Bioinformatician at AstraZeneca in Gothenburg, Sweden you'll play a great part in our Quantitative Biology team. Join a place built on innovation and creativity. What you will do:
You'll be part of Data Sciences & Quantitative Biology - a delivery focused department where we collaborate to support drug projects aiming to impact patients' lives. In partnership with our experimentalist colleagues, we provide computational analysis and solutions to enable and enhance output from our technical platforms driving our drug discovery efforts. The role also includes:
* Collaboration with various stakeholders across the company as well as AstraZeneca IT on bioinformatics and software development projects.
* Impact, prototype and build analytical pipelines for identifying novel drug targets.
* Develop bespoke data visualization and analysis tools.
* Ensure and organize effective communication between computational biologists and stakeholders across the company.
* Ensure scientific and technical excellence in software, processes and results.

Essential in this role:
We believe you are a skilled Bioinformatician with a proven track record of delivering analytical solutions for business or academic needs. Your ability to convert details into holistic information by team working with colleagues, as well as our customers will be of great importance.
We also expect you to have:
* MSc in Bioinformatics or Computer Science, or another quantitative degree with strong Computer or Data Science fundamentals.
* Experience with either Python (Pandas, Jupyter, Dash) or R (Bioconductor, RMarkdown, Shiny).
* Experience with Git and CI/CD, container technologies (Docker/Singularity) and Cloud Computing.
* Knowledge of open source bioinformatics tools and algorithms.
* Proficiency in working in a Linux environment, experience with shell scripting and standard command line tools.
Desirable in this role:
* Experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks (React, Angular, D3).
* Experience with SQL and relational databases (Postgres, MySQL).
* Familiarity with tools for reproducible research such as Snakemake or Nextflow.
