We are looking for a Biodiversity Consultant to join our team in Göteborg. Working alongside both engineers and environmental specialists, you will support COWI and our clients to identify biodiversity mitigation and enhancements on some of the most challenging and exciting infrastructure projects in the Sweden and advise on how our designers can best incorporate enhanced biodiversity giving you the opportunity to co-create with our experts on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in Sweden.
Your key responsibilities will be:
Working and coordinating biodiversity assessments
Authoring, coordinating, and contributing to the preparation of permitting processes and planning applications
Managing sub-contractors for ecological surveys in a wide variety of habitats, preferably across the Sweden
Liaison with the Project Director, project partners, design team, client representatives and stakeholders
Contributing to the consent consultation process
Advising on how best to incorporate good environmental design within major engineering projects
Supporting pursuit of relevant business development opportunities, developing client relationships and input into bids and tenders as required

To do well in this position, you should have valuable experience of providing high quality ecology/biodiversity solutions in challenging environments and enjoy creating interesting and innovative solutions to impacts, while always striving to create genuine opportunities for ecological enhancement.
Furthermore, you'll:
Have a master's degree in ecology/biological sciences and a demonstrable experience between 5-12 years.
Have a strong background in field experience of determination of species and habitats
Be oriented in most types of common Swedish natural habitats
Have knowledge in Natura 2000 types of habitats as well as species protected by EU directives
Have working knowledge and hands on experience with (coordination of) terrestrial, fresh water or marine biodiversity surveys and assessments
Have professional Swedish/English written and verbal communication skills
Have Swedish driver's license class B
