Senior Application Specialist - Wireless

Job Summary:
Altair is looking for an enthusiastic engineer with electromagnetic wave propagation and radio network planning background for its software tool WRAP. Altair WRAP includes modules for radio and radar coverage planning as well as spectrum management. The successful candidate with his domain expertise will be representing WRAP to prospects, customers and colleagues in the various regions. This will include interaction with software development to further evolve WRAP in the right directions and business development to successfully place WRAP in the competitive landscape.
What You Will Do:
Representing the WRAP software internally to colleagues and externally towards customers and prospects by presentations and software demonstrations
Interacting with business development to push relevant application areas and identify new features
Collaborating with the program manager and development team for the integration of new features and technologies
Providing trainings on WRAP to customers and colleagues
Guiding colleagues on how to use WRAP for radio coverage studies in their projects
Providing second level support where required
Demonstrating the WRAP software to prospects, customers and colleagues
What You Will Need:
Basics:
Excellent communication skills
Strong background in radio network planning theory and practice
Graduate-level degree (MS, PhD) in Electrical or RF Engineering preferred
Good knowledge in wireless networks, radar systems, and spectrum management
Fundamental knowledge in computational electromagnetics and wave propagation
Experience in interaction with business development, marketing and sales
Team-oriented with an open forward-thinking mindset
Must be able to work without a lot of guidance
Preferred:
Experience in
Radio planning software tools,
Radar systems and technologies,
Spectrum management & monitoring,
Broadcasting & satellite communication,
Collocation interference,
Wireless air interfaces like 5G, LTE, WiFi
SQL Databases.
Ability to translate between business requirements and software features.
