Imagination Studios is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Animator to join our team for a six-month contract to work on a high profile project for our client - a AAA developer.
As a Senior Animator on the team you will need to be a very strong key-framer capable of animating to a realistic, slightly stylised aesthetic. You will also need to be capable of motion editing to a very high professional standard.
For this position you will mainly be responsible for the creation and editing of animation sequences for cinematics (which combine the use of mocap and key-framing). This will be mainly human animation and may also include animal and vehicle animation.
This role requires you to offer close support to the Supervising Animator, maintaining styling through feedback and revisions and ensuring that our client?s high quality standards are achieved.
You will also be working very closely with our Cinematics Lead and Producers in order to create believable and exciting sequences in a timely and efficient manner.
As a senior member of the team you will be expected to take on a considerable amount of responsibility and contribute on many levels.
Required qualifications
• Must be a highly accomplished motion editor i.e. well versed at retiming, reposing and over-keying mocap data.
• Must be a highly skilled Animator who can demonstrate observational skills coupled with a strong understanding of weight distribution and pacing/timing
• Experience in motion-editing and animating in MotionBuilder
• Experience creating cinematic sequences in MotionBuilder
• Have prior experience working as a Senior Animator
• Minimum of 6 years of experience working as an Animator in the CGI industry
• Be able to take direction well and also contribute ideas to help benefit the project
• Must be highly organised, focused and proactive
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• A very positive attitude
• A dedicated team-player
Desired qualifications
• Prior experience working as a Senior Animator on at least 1 published AAA game , TV or film project
• Experience working with Story Mode in MotionBuilder
• Experience with facial animation pipelines
• Accomplished knowledge of cinematography
• Experience providing feedback to other Animators
• Experience working directly with either/all of the following; Motion Capture Leads, Artists, and Clients in a production and service oriented environment.
