We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our Listening & Reading team in the Core Experience domain!
About the team
We are a small, cross-functional team focused on delivering the most reliable and seamless audiobook and ebook experiences to millions of users.
The Listening and Reading team builds the core parts of our product, such as the audio player and the ebook reader for the Storytel Android and iOS apps, as well as apps for WearOS, Automotive OS and the Storytel Reader.
Developers collaborate closely with designers, researchers, and product managers to build end-to-end features.
We are as passionate about the customer experience as we are about the technologies that drive our product.
About you
You are an experienced Android developer, motivated by resolving problems in complex systems together with full-stack teams, and getting involved in all of the stages of the development process, from ideation to shipping.
You care about delivering high-quality products and supporting others to maintain a high standard.
You understand agile principles and apply it to deliver a project in incremental phases.
In addition, you also:
• Write readable, maintainable, performant and testable code.
• Have a deep understanding of modern Android development. Comfortable with Kotlin, Coroutines, Flows, and the Android lifecycle. If you are not yet comfortable with Compose you will get a good chance to learn on the job.
• Keep up to date with the latest best practices, common frameworks and tools to continuously define into a common set of coding guidelines and best practices for the app.
• Enjoy learning as well as teaching others. See best practices applied by educating, workshopping, pair programming and other similar activities involving your co-workers.
• Are used to the code reviewing process, and understand that reviewing is as important as writing code.
• Have a methodical approach to debug and fix problems in distributed systems.
• Are comfortable with experimenting and exploring new domains, both in business and technology.
• Have an interest in our product and in helping our customers enjoy audio stories anytime, anywhere.
