The section Fuel Economy within the department Environment & Fluid Dynamics Centre is a part of the complete vehicle organisation at R&D. At Fuel economy we are working closely together with many of the design department to ensure developmentof components and systems with efficient use of energy in the vehicle to ensure competitive fuel economy. The aim is to meet or exceed our customers expectations regarding fuel economy. We are working to ensure further development of existing techniques but also part of advanced engineering. Both regarding hardware and software. We are active in the pre project phase defining the project content.

As a Senior Analysis Engineer Pre - Program Fuel Economy you will do the pre-study work for many of the vehicle programs. You will set the fuel economy targets for the complete vehicle and will break down this into system and functional requirement and distribute these to the system owners at the design departments.

Main responsibilities.

• Be a spokesman for the attribute
• Work closely together with many other departments to set the right requirements for vehicles
• Be apart of the strategic work regarding fuel economy
• Be responsible for setting targets which will meet future legal requirements
• Be responsible for setting targets that is compatible with future legal requirements
• Optimise the target for each vehicle so that fleet average can be fulfilled for the Volvo Car Group overall vehicle fleet
• Be our expert in proposing the best possible technical solution to fulfil fuel economy targets

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. in i.e. Electronics, Physics or Mechanical
• Experience from the Automotive industry
• Driver's license B
• Project experience
• CAE knowledge will be an asset
• Project leading experience is meritorious
• Experience of product development is meritorious
