We are now looking for a person who is ready take the challenge as the Segment Manager Adhesives for our Wood Coatings business at Akzo Nobel. In this position you will be key in developing and managing the initiatives for our adhesives business to ensure the market success of one of the most important value streams within the business unit.
The position is based in Nacka, Sweden or Hilden, Germany and reports to the global business unit Marketing Director.
About the position
As the Segment Manager Adhesives you contribute to the execution of sales- and profitability targets by implementing strategic go-to-market models and translating strategy into initiatives.
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Translate business unit vision, policies, services package, training plans, market research and customer specifications to segment
• Act as a key interface to RD&I, color marketing, technical service and sales for product development and product life cycle analysis
• Responsible for product portfolio and filling the pipelines
• Provide leadership and guidance in implementation and execution of segment strategy
• Act as an ambassador and encouraging talent processes and engagement
• Strengthen the talent pipeline by developing talent and regularly assesses and discusses talent and internal movement
• Create an open environment in the team where all people can perform at their best and stimulates the development of others and ensures an engaged marketing team
Qualifications
• At least Bachelor degree with significant business experience in technical, product management and/or technical sales
• Experience in industrial chemistry, wood coatings or similar
• Strategic insight and business understanding, ability to ability to comprehend market and competition landscape
• Strong analytical, numeric capabilities
• Good understanding of business financials
• Ability, drive, and empathy to achieve change and to develop others
• Skilled in compiling data and present it in an audience targeted manner, both orally and in writing.
• Strong capabilities in using SAP, Business Warehouse, Excel and market research databases
To be successful in this position you are a strong leader who appreciates the power of team work as well as individual performances. You are confident in your own expertise and a strong drive to deliver results while maintaining a high quality and safety standards. You have excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly set the direction as well as create winning teams and build your own network. You have experience from change management and enjoy being a manager in an environment of change
