The Exterior Engineering department is a part of Vehicle Hardware and consists of four sections, with a wide range of award winning technology and material applications, e.g. sheet metal hoods, polymer bumpers, glass, lighting systems with a lot of functionality and panoramic roofs. Each section focused on engineering and delivering world class exteriors for our future cars, highly driven by functionality and design. We are responsible for all product documentation defining the exterior of the car as well as program management and industrialization.

Are you passionate about projects and development and want to reach your personal goals together with other people? Join us as a SPL, Section Project Leader, at Exterior Systems.
The section Exterior Systems consists of 4 groups:
Exterior Lighting Concept, Exterior Lighting Program Execution, Cleanings Systems and Roof System and Mirrors.
The Exterior Lighting Concept and Program Execution groups are developing front and rear lighting and all exterior lighting functions e.g. Adaptive High Beam. They have also a CAN and a LIN node in their deliveries.
Cleaning Systems is developing Wiper and Washer systems and functions related to these systems.
Roof System and Mirrors is developing panoramic roofs and sun roofs and the interior and exterior mirrors and the functions connected to these systems.
The section has a responsibility for physical verification for lighting and the section is developing methods for virtual verification for cleaning and lighting systems. There are also many Advanced Engineering projects ongoing at this section.
At Exterior Systems you are part of a global cross functional development team with a close cooperation with the Volvo team in China and US. The section is working with Full Service Suppliers from different countries and continents. You will lead and support you team in product & functional development as our parts have a functional electrical content as well as being an important part of the design. The cross functional work includes cooperation with the Product Design department, the Electrical department, Purchasing Manufacturing and the plants worldwide.
Main/Key responsibilities & deliveries
* Manage the section's product development activities in the projects.
* Deliver technical solutions in time within cost frames for Exterior System.
* Lead a cross functional and global team.
* Report the project progress to line and project organizations.
* Anchor the technical solutions with all relevant stakeholders including management.
Required qualifications
* Master of Science/ Bachelor Degree or equivalent.
* Team player.
* Good communication and social skills.
* Fluent in English, written and spoken.
* Have a fact based mind set during problem solving.
* Capacity to drive several issues simultaneously.
* Result oriented and flexible with focus to get the job done.
* Structured and analytic.
* Driver's license B.
Meritorious qualifications
* Experience from VCC and internal IT system.
* Project Manager experience
