Ericsson is the leader in bringing 5G to market with 100+ commercial 5G agreements with outstanding service providers. The possibilities across industries are endless - from automotive and transport to agriculture, utilities and more. We work with the latest generations of broadband wireless technology 4G and 5G. Our unit is responsible to systemize, design, implement and test software features to control the air interface.

We are looking for a section manager for the global BB (BaseBand) Lower Sector which is responsible for the Physical Layer baseband SW within the gNodeB. This includes
Ensuring a capable long-term architecture and quality assurance for the Physical Layer.
Enabling Development Group XFTs to implement new features with speed and quality by offering them efficient and understandable, product architecture, test frameworks, documentation and education.
Developing features and functionality in the areas MBB (Mobile Broad Band) for 4G and 5G, such as Massive MIMO, IOT, AI and millimeter wavelength technologies.

The unit consists of two skilled domain teams with focus on the Physical Layer. The unit is based in Kista.

You will
Secure Ericsson technology leadership and make sure we have the right scope, quality, time and cost for product development
Be responsible for driving technology and product leadership
Build a flow-optimized environment for the teams
Coach and mentor teams and individuals
Support innovation and improvements
Foster a culture of knowledge sharing and learning
Report into Head of BB Lower, based in Lund, and be a member of the global leadership team.

As a manager, a large part of the work will be spent in tight co-operation with colleagues in the BB Lower LT located in Lund, Kista, Ottawa and Beijing, but also with other units. This requires a keen interest in people and ability to empower teams! We also expect you to have the gift and courage of simplifying sophisticated structures, to develop competence and innovation.

To be successful in the role you have
A university degree in engineering/ICT, computer science or equivalent
Experience in working with the physical layer. Experience of radio baseband or radio protocols is a plus
Experience with real-time embedded/DSP software development
Experience in being a team leader or manager in software development, preferable in multi-site organizations
Experience working with feature verification of NR, LTE and/or WCDMA radio network verification is meritorious
A good understanding of agile and lean R&D development
Respect for deadlines and ability to empower people under high workload
Change management and cooperation skills together with experience working across organizational boundaries
Business and customer focus with a high degree of accountability to formulating strategies/concepts and deliver results
Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
