The business segment Fabric & Cleaning Applications provides specialty products to a broad customer base in
areas like Household & Institutional Cleaning, Fabric Care, Auto Dish Wash etc. Our offering is based on a variety of technologies including several surfactant classes and synthetic as well as natural polymers.
Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for a Section Manager for our Fabric & Cleaning Applications R&D, This is a permanent position on a full time basis located in Stenungsund, Sweden, reporting directly to the RDI Director Surface Chemisty EMEIA.
You have the managerial responsibility for the R&D team Fabric & Cleaning to assure high innovation productivity in alignment with the global business strategy.
The main responsibilities are:
• Support the Global Fabric & Cleaning Business through innovation, product development, technical service and promotion of specialty Polymers and Surfactants
• Supervise scale-up and process development
• Support product launches
• Handle technical requests as well as complaints and root cause investigations
• Manage and develop your team and create a stimulating and open work environment
• Develop and maintain a strong external network with customers, institutes, universities etc
• Maintain strong links with AkzoNobel RDI Teams in other regions (Americas, Asia) as well as in other
business areas to understand current technologies available as well as projects underway
• Establish and follow up the department budget
• Drive HSE-culture and activities in RDI team
• Presentations of technical results to customers and other external audiences
Requirements
We are looking for someone with an academic degree in polymer chemistry, surface science or organic chemistry. You have previous experience of application research, preferably within I&I cleaning or similar. It is a merit if you have been working with consumer companies.
To be successful in this position you need to have excellent leadership skills and you have a passion for developing the talents of your team. You are seen as a role model in consistency and integrity and continually strive to improve performance. You are an initiator and possess the ability to drive change and have strong commercial acumen. You are challenged by meeting high set targets and delivering results.
