Role Summary/Purpose
We are looking for a candidate for 12 months temporary assignment as Section Manager for Measurement and Detection section, which reports to BioProcess Systems Department within BioProcess R&D.
Essential Responsibilities
BP Systems department consists of approximately 120 people divided into nine sections, and is responsible for research, development and support of BioProcess Systems, including Software and Hardware, such as ÄKTA, UNICORN, XcellereX Bioreactors/Mixers and AxiChrom.
Measurement and Detection section is responsible for mechanical, electrical, embedded software and optical design of sensors (UV, pH, conductivity, flow meters, temperature, pressure etc.), instrument user interfaces (displays, buttons etc.) and instrument backbone (ICU etc.).
Section Manager role includes management of section and section members (approx. 15 people), active participation in BP Systems Management Team and close collaboration with project managers reporting to Portfolio as well as with colleagues within department.
As Section Manager you will be accountable for securing deliverables from section into projects, fulfilling the section/department goals and securing competencies of section.
You will work to continuously develop both technical platforms/solutions and processes in order to secure delivery and quality of products in efficient way as well as continuously develop and grow employees in your team.
Responsibilities:
• Continuously monitor and work to improve productivity of section and ability to deliver on time and budget.
• Actively monitor quality of work done by section personnel and work to secure that project quality objectives are met.
• Within given responsibilities make budget, forecasts and actively monitor spending.
• Within assigned technology area supply resources, tools and process framework to projects.
• Review project work when requested by processes, project manager or whenever needed by other reasons.
• Continuously enhance working practices within domain of responsibility, including training of personnel, recruitment, new tools, new external collaborations and networking.
• In collaboration with Project Manager appoint activity leaders in projects.
• Authority to approve design input-, verification and design output documents.
• Within assigned domain of expertise decide in technical concept and embodiment issues in projects, within framework given by project.
• Maximize overall productivity and quality for all projects by allocating resources from the section to projects in the most optimal way based on overall priorities.
• Decide on tools and development methodology within assigned domain of expertise and in alignment with company development processes.

Qualifications/Requirements
• MSc or similar education in relevant area
• Minimum 5 years' experience in relevant product development
• Proven leadership and people skills from e.g. line management or project management
• Strong cooperation skills
• Genuine interest in developing people and technical solutions
• Strong communication skills
• Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
• EU work permit
