ESS is now looking for a Section Leader Cooling Systems for the Facility Management Division organised within the Project Directorate. As a FM Section Leader Cooling System, you report to the FM Group Leader System Maintenance. You will be part of the ESS FM Management team, leading and coordinating the activities in the Cooling Section and coordinating with all other sections in Facility Management.
The scope of the Cooling Section is to perform and plan maintenance of all the FM Cooling installations as well as other process equipment (gases, deionized water, compressed air etc). These systems are to be implemented in the computer aided facility management system Infor EAM, which will be the main tool for the FM team.
Above the responsibility for maintenance activities, this role will act as ESS Pressurized Operation Lead (POL) and be part of building a framework and procedures for safe and efficient operation of pressurized systems for all of ESS.
This role will also be responsible for ESS's contracts regarding usage of waste heat produced at the ESS's facility.
You will have an important role in setting the FM strategies in order to have cost efficient maintenance routines that contribute to our goal with a science facilities with no interruptions and effective usage of energy.
Job description
Your main areas of responsibilities as a Facility Management Section Leader Cooling Systems will be to:
• Be responsible for the management and coordination of the FM Cooling System section with employees and service contractors.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities for installations on ESS site in order to keep an availability of 99% for science.
• Act as ESS Pressurized Operation Leader (POL) and be responsible to for following legal requirements as described in AFS 2017:3)
• Supervise the ESS's contracts regarding waste heat and energy in order to reach ESS environmental energy goals.
• Support other FM groups, sections and other parts of ESS in design changes/upgrades related to process installations/equipment.
• Ensure that Quality control is undertaken for installation work in accordance with the Performance Plan and that work is compliant and benchmarked to the relevant design and specifications.
• Be responsible for occupational health and safety as described in separate delegation for work environment as Line manager and Area responsible.
• Be responsible for manning own organisation in collaboration with FM Head of Division.
• Owner of allocated risks as identified by the risk management procedure.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
• Education in MS Civil Engineering or similar
• General knowledge of current legislation and regulations in the field of civil construction and design
• At least 10 years of experience of large and complex projects or facilities similar to ESS, preferably background in energy area, with design, installations or maintenance of industrial process systems
• Experience with working in multi disciplines, coordinating work across a broad spectrum of different installations
• Experience from computer aided facility management systems like Infor is an advantage
• Have leadership skills and are interested in developing people and processes.
We believe that you have the technical and strategical skills to maintain a concept for operating and maintaining the systems within your responsibility, and you have the communicational skills to align the organisation.
Excellent oral and written English skills are necessary. You have an eye for details and take great pride in maintaining a high level of quality in all the work you carry out.
Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period
Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
