Game Development has the overall responsibility for the development and maintenance of our Poker client/server software. The section consists of 30+ developers and graphical artists and is organized into 4 teams with different competencies and responsibilities. In this position you will be responsible for the quality of the applications that your team are developing and maintaining. As Section Head for Game Development you will get the opportunity to work for one of the market leaders in a fast growing market for online gaming and live betting. Working with us is both as serious as in a bank or a stock exchange and as fun and creative as in the gaming industry.

You are a leader that knows what’s required from a development team to deliver quality software. You have good understanding and competence around different development methods. You are business minded and are supporting your business counterparts to get the most “bang for their buckâ€. You will operate in a highly integrated matrix environment. Your team is top of the line and needs to be very cooperative for us to be successful. You are valuing openness and are embraising feedback of all sort in your team. Your team consists of top coders and graphical designers that take pride in their work and are working in a tight cooperation with testers, scrum masters and product managers. You keep a tight and transparent dialogue with your business owner(s) and other stakeholders to make sure all aspects and dependencies are catered for and that impediments are mitigated.
Your player experience: A leader at heart with a techie's mind
To play with us in this position, you probably have 10-20 years’ experience from the IT industry and at least a 5-10 years in Management position. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science is a good start if combined with a track record as a leader and a broad understanding of SW development. Experience from both small and large complex IT projects and agile project methodology is a must. You have experience to manage teams that are nearshored/offshored.
You need to understand the co-ordination complexity in having 100+ developers working in parallel on 50+ applications and making the system integrate continuously. Further to this we value a few years experience from organizations using scrum or other agile methods. Experience from similar roles or from test management will be advantageous. As you will be responsible for both team leaders and direct reports we expect you to be a confident leader with an inclination for a coaching leadership style. Your interest in human behaviour styles is genuine and on the path of getting to know others you are both prepared and willing to face the naked truth about yourself. You are result oriented - You make sure things get done!
