Infinera is looking for a Principal SDN Engineer. This is a key position in the SDN Systems Engineering team. You will work with various members of the SDN group to define systems architecture & requirements for Next Generation network automation solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:
• Your work would involve defining systems architecture, detailed requirements, inter-system interfaces, information modeling, use-case analysis and systems behavior definition across multiple networking technologies.
• You will also investigate & analyse SDN features & capabilities for supporting intelligent multi-layer, multi-vendor applications.
• You will work with other teams to define architecture & use-cases based on product & SDN platform requirements.
• You will provide engineering with guidance during functional & design reviews to ensure consistency with architectural objectives.
• You will author systems requirement documents that help specify the scope & behavior of various applications & modules.
• You will also define the appropriate information models & protocols for use with the SDN.
Education & Experience Necessary for Success:
• BS/MSEE or CS or equivalent coupled with 12+ years of industry experience.
• 5+ years experience in systems engineering & architecture for multi-technology networking, inclusive of optical & packet control plan networking technologies.
• 2+ years experience in UML & yang modeling.
• Experience in meta-data modeling & policy definition.
• Demonstrated capability in collaborating with multiple functional groups & building consensus among key stake holders.
• Excellent writing skills & demonstrated ability to clearly define systems engineering requirements that are implementable & testable.
• Experience in developing scalable architectures that can support service provider networking environments.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals across multiple networking layers (layer 0-3), including key services offered at each layer (WDM, OTN, MPLS, IP, VPN, MEF, Ethernet).
• Demonstrated ability to function at both a tactical & strategic level and make critical tradeoffs that best meet a company's objective.
