What's in it for you?
We are looking for a Scrum Master to join the teams within Durability System Analysis at our Volvo Cars Safety Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden.

At Volvo Cars Safety Centre, 200 highly skilled professionals strive every day to make the world a safer place for car drivers and everyone else on the road. Safety Centre (VCSC) supports our strategic direction of "Freedom to move in a Personal, Sustainable & Safe way". Durability System Analysis focus on building knowledge in the company on how to build durable cars to retain high uptime, safety over time and increased sustainability. We build knowledge in the designing teams by analyzing designs and provide recommendations to fulfill requirements while keeping the product as sustainable as possible.

The teams within Durability System Analysis are Trim & Closures CAE, Trim & Closures Test and Body Analysis, where Body Analysis is a mixed team with both virtual- and physical analysis engineers. Together they cover the body, doors, front- and rear end and interior and exterior trim parts. The teams also work with requirements and method development to continuously improve the abilities to help the teams and work within the attributes Strength & Endurance, Ageing of polymer Materials and Mechanical Theft Protection. The teams work in all phases of the projects with both virtual and physical analysis.

What you'll do
As a Scrum Master (ScM) you will be a servant leader who supports the team and the agile way of working on "Team of Teams" level as the whole department Safety Centre. You will facilitate the team's progress towards team goals and continuously engage in challenging the old norms of development to improve performance in the areas of quality, flow, and velocity. The ScM helps the team focus on daily work and reach goals in the context of current Program Increment (PI) Objectives. You will lead the team's effort in relentless improvement as you will be a key player to create prerequisites to maintain and develop high-performing teams.

You will facilitate communication, coordination, and collaboration to ensure the team reaches the delivery goals. You will support to educate the team in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, improve flow and ensuring that the agreed Agile process is being followed. The ScM also help remove impediments and foster an environment for empowerment and high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement but also coordinate activities with other teams. The ScM 's primary responsibility is to assist the self-organizing, self-managing team achieve its goals.

You will together with the Product Owner (PO) and Team Manager (TM) create a strong troika with the mission to support our teams, but also work on department level.

You and your skills
We see that you have a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent as well as previous experience as a Scrum Master. Experience or knowledge about attribute centers and/or CAE analysis at Volvo Cars is a plus.

On a personal level, you are a fast-paced doer yet structured and with excellent communication skills. Your mind-set is to be a servant leader aiming for a high-performing team execution capable to deliver durability knowledge needed in our future products. You will lead the team's effort in relentless improvements and to strive for a culture where the team is accountable for its actions. You like to have a position where you provide direction and work to remove obstacles for the team which enables work and helps the team to deliver. You see a challenge in creating an optimized work process and are knowledgeable of the agile work procedures. You are focusing on continuous improvements to find a more efficient way to get things done and you are leading with the aim to create the best collaboration within development teams and between teams. While being a servant leader for the team you should have a consistent focus on your own development to maintain in-depth safety and work process knowledge over time.
