HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems.
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Category Manager for Contacted Construction Services. This independent contributor position for Construction & Commissioning is a key role in the process of HVDC tenders and projects all around the globe, where you need to coordinate the process of sourcing of multi-million-dollar civil design, civil works, and installation scope among others.
If you have a drive for relentless execution with a high focus on details and contract management this role will allow you to be the focal point throughout the complete procurement process both in tenders as well as in projects.

Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for the Market Research, Subcontractors and Partner Identification.
You will be responsible for Contractor/Partner relationship management, Subcontractor/Partner Selection and Development of them.
You have responsible coordination of the Construction & Commissioning RFQ team and for compilation of the RFQ.
You have the responsibility for the Contract Management - Drafting of subcontract together with Contract Manager
You will be responsible for Subcontractors ' Bid evaluation, Subcontractor Risk Review and Bid Review Meeting as well as the Negotiation with the subcontractors.
Your background
You have a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management or similar.
Experience in civil engineering background or a Strategic sourcing background in contracted services (non-commodity, i.e., civil design, civil works, or installation) or Contract Management is required.
Background from Strategic Sourcing or Contract Management or Civil/Construction/ Engineering/Management.
As a person you drive for relentless execution with a high focus on details and are well-structured and organized.
Contract Management knowledge is a big advantage to succeed in this role.
You have knowledge of EPC processes and have abilities to handle demanding timelines with multiple priorities.
Must have
Fluent in English. Additional languages are beneficial.
Open minded and flexible.
