We are now recruiting a scientist with IT expertise to Discovery Information , AstraZeneca, Mölndal. The position is placed at the Science Desk and the scientist is expected to support and educate scientist in the organization with research related IT applications. Preferred start is as soon as possible. Initial duration of the position is 6 months.
The role will provide frontline scientific/informatics support to the pharmaceutical research community, acting as the gateway into Discovery Information. The scientist in this role is responsible for performing delivery of Science Desk (ScD) Services regionally and TAU (Training, Awareness and Utilization) activities at a local site.
The core responsibility of this individual is to assist scientists to discover new medicines by resolving scientific questions and performing training and awareness regarding the use of scientific applications. This role has a principal customer focus with accountability for managing customer demands and marketing internal products and services to the research community. The role holder will be expected to apply their understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, drug discovery process, scientific knowledge and computer science techniques to solve real world scientific problems.
We are looking for a scientist with a MSc in chemistry, biology, biotechnology or equivalent education or experience. Documented IT skills are required and previous experience from pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
It is essential to have good social and communication skills and to be a strong team player. A customer focused attitude is required. Candidates should be able to work independently, take own initiatives and have a positive, goal oriented and problem solving attitude. Good organisational skills are required and you should be comfortable in training people. Excellent swedish and english is required, both spoken and in writing. Personal skills are important in the the selection of the right candidate.
