www.ri.se. The RISE unit Surface, Process and Formulation (SPF) is looking for an inorganic chemist Location: Södertälje (ca 40 kilometers southwest of Stockholm)Are you an enthusiastic scientist with a strong and broad interest in inorganic chemistry? Are you a problem solver who can combine your own skills with analytical and literature data to find solutions to complex customer problems? Are you familiar with several solid-state analysis techniques and enjoy hands on work in the laboratory? Is this you? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you. At RISE SPF we apply our skills to deliver commercial and research projects in the areas of pharmaceutical and process chemistry, formulation and analytical chemistry. We work closely with our industrial customers to solve their problems and develop their processes. We also develop our skills and competences through internal and external research projects. Our work is often conducted in multidisciplinary teams with full responsibility for planning and delivery.About the position As scientist/senior scientist in inorganic chemistry your main responsibility will be to provide our customers with answers and solutions to their challenges. The complexity of the tasks will range from relatively simple to extremely challenging. We work with many different materials and chemicals such as pharmaceuticals, minerals and various organic and inorganic substances. You will be part of our solid-state team and have highly skilled colleagues to collaborate with and consult. You will work actively with customer contacts and provide internal support to various projects. You will work both as an independent scientist with your own projects and as a team member in larger projects. We have access to a wide range of solid-state analytical techniques (BET, DSC, DVS, FTIR, FT-Raman, ICP/OES, light microscopy, SEM/EDS, SXRD, TAM, TGA, XRPD and various techniques for determination of particle size distribution) locally and additional techniques such as AFM, Confocal Raman, ESCA, E-SEM in Stockholm.Who are you? You have a PhD in inorganic chemistry and preferably around 5 years of relevant professional experience. However, we will also consider other applicants if they have a relevant background and are strongly motivated to develop in the field. You have a good working knowledge of crystallography and thermodynamics and can apply your understanding of e.g. equilibria, phase diagrams and solubility to advanced problem solving. You find the use of solid-state analytical techniques and the associated lab work with work ups and sample preparations highly interesting.
