hela Sverige As a Research Engineer you will contribute to explorative work and product development of new chemistry platforms and participate in scientific studies and development assignments in the early phases. You will also develop and optimize new and existing products for commercial use and contribute to the survey and communication of relevant external and scientific development to the team and management.
Main duties and responsibilities
Responsible to find, evaluate and explore new fields in product related chemistry and/or process
Responsible to lead and participate in assigned RD&I development projects and activities and to report progress and results
Capture and communicate relevant external IP and together with the Management team ensure intellectual protection of the company knowhow
Contribute to the personal motivation, involvement, and competence development of the team in order to provide efficiency and valuable results to the company
Responsible to follow the HSE-legislations and HSE site rules in order to contribute to a safe workplace and environment, thus work according to Swedish legislation and AkzoNobel standards
Contribute to continuous improvements of the efficiency, HSE and quality
PhD. in Chemistry / Chemical Technology preferably with knowledge in polymer chemistry or organic chemistry
Deep experience or specialist within all fields of product related chemistry, laboratory work, analytical issues, and leading early product development
Good knowledge and experience in IP documentation as well as proven achievements within the fields of patent
Experience within industrial chemical processes and scale up
Good experience of project management
Good communication skills in English and preferably also in Swedish, both orally and in writing
Good awareness of safety, health and environmental regulations
To be successful in this position you are a collaborative cross-functional team player as well as focused on creating results. You have the ability to keep a high level of engagement and to be persistent during long time periods while building new knowledge and exploring new technologies. You also have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and it is also important that you meet external and internal parties in a professional manner. You will be expected to travel to some extent, for conferences and meetings with external and internal parties.
