Anocca is a young Biotechnology company developing novel T-cell therapies with an international team of 23 different nationalities. Anocca is working in the field of individualised medicine in immuno-oncology - reprogramming the human immune system to treat disease. At Anocca we have developed a proprietary, innovative biological platform for high-throughput, systematic interrogation of the human immune system, to enable treatment of cancers on an individual basis - the Anocca Immunotechnology Platform.
Job description
The R&D group at Anocca is looking for a highly motivated scientist to join the DNA core team. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and implementation of cutting-edge molecular biology technologies, utilising state of the art equipment and liquid handling robotics. The position will involve hands-on lab work, with help from junior team member(s) under direct supervision, as well as interfacing with upstream and downstream teams to support their experimental needs.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of nucleic acid-based molecular biology fundamentals and development of optimised molecular assays. The candidate must have excellent English communication skills, the ability to analyse data and is meticulous in the documentation of experimental procedures and results. You must be capable of working as part of a team but also have the initiative to plan, coordinate and drive projects forward.
What we are looking for:
• PhD in molecular biology or related field
• Strong theoretical and practical understanding of nucleic acid-based techniques
• Experience with advanced vector design and cloning methodologies
• Experience in the following techniques would be of merit: synthetic biology workflows, Next Generation Sequencing and library preparation, single cell sequencing methodologies, DNA and/or RNA molecular diagnostic testing
• Goal oriented with a focus on proficiency and attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and in a team environment
• Fluent written and spoken English
