Are you a scientist with a passion for protein X-ray crystallography? TThen you might be the one we are looking for. We are working with drug discovery from the idea stage to clinical candidate in an efficient and multi-disciplinary research environment. Join us and help us create the medicines of the future!

SPRINT BIOSCIENCE IN SHORT

Sprint Bioscience develops small-molecule drug projects with a focus on oncology. With fragment-based drug design methods, advanced technical approaches, and leading specialists, we develop the drugs of the future - from the idea stage to a clinical candidate with the goal set at being "First-in-Class".

Our business model is to identify and develop drug projects and license these in the preclinical phase to partners in the pharma industry for further development. We choose projects with the greatest technical and commercial potential for success.

About 30 committed employees work closely together in an multidisciplinary environment with cutting-edge science and stimulating projects. We collaborate with academic and industrial partners from all over the world.

We are situated in tailor-made premises in Flemingsberg, Huddinge, 20 minutes by train from Stockholm City.

ABOUT THE POSITION

You will be a member of the Structural Biology team, consisting of dedicated scientists with expertise in the different areas related to protein crystallography (recombinant protein expression and purification, crystallogenesis, and structure determination).

We work in efficient and dynamic project teams, which are adaptable and change depending on project priorities. As such, you will have the opportunity to work on multiple projects in parallel, in constant interaction with members of the other scientific teams (Protein Science, Medicinal Chemistry, Tumor biology and Therapeutics). You will be provided with the opportunity to develop both within and outside your discipline.

You will bring your expertise, your passion and your creativity into a team of scientists, where your role will be:

• Developing stable crystallization protocols suitable for the study by X-ray crystallography of protein-ligand complexes
• Applying these protocols to deliver high-resolution diffraction data to support the chemistry programs.
• Delivering 3D models of protein-ligand complexes to chemists and guiding them in their analysis
• Supporting other members of the team and solve challenges together.
• Sharing responsibilities in terms of organization of the structural biology activities (organization of synchrotron sessions, maintenance of the equipment, ...)
• Implementing new workflows and new methods for protein crystallography and structural biology in general

WHO YOU ARE

To be successful in this position you need:

• Expertise in crystallography of soluble proteins and particularly of protein-ligand complexes (from early crystallogenesis steps to model refinement).
• Good knowledge in protein purification and biophysical characterization of protein samples and protein-ligand interactions.
• A passion for structural biology (protein crystallography) and particularly method development in the different fields of the discipline.
• A mindset allowing the team to excel.
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills.
• Excellent communications skills in written and spoken English.

If you also have experience in the following fields, it will be considered as beneficial:

• Fragment-based drug design
• Fragment screening by X-ray crystallography
• Other techniques in Structural Biology (e.g. Cryo-EM)
• Crystallography of membrane proteins
• Chemistry (computational chemistry)
• Automation and scientific programming

HOW TO APPLY
