MAX IV is a national large-scale research laboratory providing scientists from Sweden and the rest of the world with instruments for research in areas such as materials science, structural biology, chemistry and nanotechnology. Fully developed it will receive more than 2 000 scientists annually. 200 people are currently employed at the MAX IV Laboratory.
We are looking for a candidate who can participate in the commissioning of the photoluminescence set-up and supporting users at the FinEstBeAMS beamline.
In addition to being a part of the group working with commissioning of FinEstBeAMS, the candidate will also be responsible for communication with and coordination of the Finnish and Estonian photoluminescence community activities at the beamline. The candidate is also expected to provide help with the commissioning of the beamline and the solid state endstation, whenever needed during the construction process.
The candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent in Physics/Chemistry or similar area of relevance for the FinEstBeAMS beamline. Other requirements include documented experience with photoluminescence based experimental research, documented experience with instrumentation relevant for photoluminescence as well as documented experience of working at a synchrotron radiation facility. Good knowledge of the (Finnish and Estonian) photoluminescence community is considered a merit. The candidate must have good team working skills and a good command of the English language.
