Consultant Assignment as Cell Culture Scientist
On behalf of our client Swedish Orphan Biovitrum, SOBI, we are now looking for candidates for a 5 month consultant assignment, and start in middle of January. During this assignment you will have a position as Cell Culture Scientist in the Protein Engineering and Upstream Development department at SOBI.
Protein Engineering and Upstream Development is a section responsible for
• Protein engineering and molecular biology
• Upstream and midstream drug substance process development.
• Cell banking
Here, we are looking for a consultant with focus within mammalian upstream process development. Work is performed in cross-functional teams in a highly collaborative, experienced and engaged environment. You will work in the department of Biopharmaceutical R&D and report to the director of Protein Engineering and Upstream Development.
Main Responsibilities:
• Participate in the development of cultivation processes in bioreactor scale up to 15 L for production of biopharmaceuticals
• Project work: Contribute in planning, performing, evaluating and documenting experiments with the project team
• Contribute to scaling up to internal manufacturing site.
• Write technical reports
Qualifications and Experience:
• M.Sc or B.Sc in biotechnology or related area
• Practical experience of mammalian cell cultivation in bioreactors
• Experience with platform technologies like Ambr bioreactor system and/or single use bioreactors is a merit
• Knowledge of scale-up challenges is a merit
• Fluent in both oral and written English,
• Good understanding of oral Swedish
