Role Summary/Purpose:
The Consumables Upstream & ReadyToProcess department is expanding into the area of customized cell culture media development and is setting up a dedicated group to work in this area. The work will be in close collaboration with GE Healthcare R&D Logan (USA, dotted line reporting) and other functions locally and globally. We are seeking a Scientist in the Application section with focus on spent media analysis, media screening and component effectiveness.

Essential Responsibilities The Scientist position is responsible for designing, undertaking and analyzing information from controlled laboratory-based investigations, experiments and trials.
Scientific leadership and ability to work and act cross-functionally in the organization, it means:
• To plan, execute, document, and when needed supervise project work to reach given objectives
• To act as scientific/technical expert and to provide technical lead within analytical chemistry for the customized cell culture media projects.
• To play an innovative and creative role in identifying and evaluating new product opportunities
• To contribute to the company's scientific presence
• To participate in, and if needed, actively manage external collaborations and research activities
• Strong External focus: to build and maintain networks and spread knowledge in entire organization
Qualifications/Requirements:
• PhD or similar competence in Analytical chemistry, Biochemistry or related area
• Solid experience from characterization of biomolecules, analysis of amino acids, vitamins and trace elements
• Specific analysis method competence
• HPLC
• Mass spectrometry (LC-MS, MALDI-TOF, ICP)
• General knowledge from the area of biological assays
• English and Swedish as a working language
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience from leading and mentoring team members
• Excellent computer skills and ability to work in both common lab/office software plus specific internal systems
• EU work permit
