The arena:
Pharmaceutical and Analytical R&D (PAR&D) develop products for pre-clinical and clinical studies as well as commercial products for the treatment of diseases in the therapeutic areas of Neuroscience, Cardiovascular/Gastrointestinal, Respiratory & Inflammation, Infection & Oncology.
Analytical Development is responsible for method development and validation, stability testing of new drug substances/products, compiling regulatory files and technology transfer to manufacturing.
The role:
As an analytical chemist you will be an active member of a team in Analytical Development in Mölndal. You will share your knowledge in a common effort to drive projects forward. You acquire an understanding of the drug development process and contribute to project work within your own function. You apply your knowledge in an area of Analytical Chemistry with a clear focus on delivering laboratory data.
In your role you will:
• contribute to analytical studies to determine the quality and stability of drug substances and drug products
• assess and report data in a clear and concise manner with an understanding of its implications within the overall context
• apply technical knowledge to achieve project targets to agreed timelines and an appropriate quality level
• develop and maintain a level of knowledge and competence widely within analytical chemistry to meet the needs from the projects
• act in networks within the organisation to build an understanding of the drug development process
• generate methods, plans, protocols and reports in a timely manner ensuring that project objectives are met
• supervise and contribute to the training and development of less experienced/junior staff
Minimum experience/requirements:
You have
• a university degree in a discipline relevant to analytical chemistry or equivalent qualifications and work-life experience
• strong hands-on experience and appreciate analytical chemistry laboratory work
• experience of pharmaceutical analytical chemistry technologies such as chromatography, spectroscopy and dissolution testing
• good skills in written and spoken English
• experience in dealing with technical problems and in resolving complex issues
You may have
• experience from solid-state analytical methods or from polymer analytical chemistry
• experience from GMP regulated work
Success factors:
With a clear focus on providing what is needed in the drug development project you build an understanding of the drug development process. To achieve this you work in networks with people in your own function as well as in other functions. You are open to change and evaluate new ways of working to make projects more efficient and you may learn new methodologies as a result of specific project needs. You apply your engagement and collaborative capabilities to deliver results in groups in areas of analytical methodologies and/or project work.
