We are now recruiting a Senior Scientist for a sex months long assignment with a starting date set to September the location is Södertälje.
Job Purpose:
The role as Senior Research Scientist is placed in the In Vivo Neurology team within the Neurology section, but the successful candidate will work with colleagues in the whole department to ensure fulfillment of goals. As a Senior Research Scientist in the In vivo Neurology team you will be responsible for designing and performing pharmacological studies in animal models of Alzheimer? disease.
Functional Knowledge:
The successful candidate should have a PhD in neurobiology / pharmacology or related discipline and preferably 2 years post-doctoral experience. We require someone who has worked with in vivo rodent models and who has a solid background in neuroanatomy, animal handling and in vivo technical skills, including different drug dosing paradigms, brain dissection and tissue preparation. Good communication skills, high motivation and the ability to interact and work effectively in a team-based environment are essential qualifications.
The following skills are highly desirable:
Preferably, the candidate will have a strong scientific research background in Alzheimer?s disease mechanisms. You have experience from working in teams and are flexible when it comes to change tasks on a short notice. Drug discovery experience in the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry is a merit.
