The European Spallation Source (ESS) is a European Research infrastructure Consortium (ERIC), a multi-disciplinary research facility based on the world's most powerful neutron source.The Unique Capabilities of this new facility will both greatly exceed and complement those of today's leading neutron sources, enabling new opportunities for researchers across the spectrum of scientific discovery , including life sciences, energy, environmental technology, cultural heritage and fundamental physics.
We are currently seeking a Senior Scientific System Administration officer at the Data Management and Software Center placed in Copenhagen (DK). As part of the Data Systems and Technology group you will play a key part in designing and setting up the data center that will store the data produced at the facility, which is currently being constructed in Lund (SE). The scope of the position includes
• Designing multi petabyte storage solutions with fail-over between our sites in Sweden and Denmark
• Participate in the deployment of the solution
• Day to day support and development on existing HPC cluster and cloud environment
A successful applicant will have
• A strong background in computer, technical or natural sciences (Master or Ph.D.)
• 10+ years of experience in a HPC environment
• In-depth experience with HA and site-to-site fail-over services
• Experience with design and implementation of high capacity/high performance storage systems
• Experience with site-to-site synchronization of stored data
• Full professional proficiency in English, written as well as oral.
