Internationella Engelska Skolan i Järfälla is an independent school which opened in August 2002. IESJ is a middle school, grades 6-9, consisting of 480 students. The campus is located in Jakobsberg in the municipality of Järfälla, 20 kilometers north of Stockholm along the commuter train line. The school is characterized by its international climate and lessons are conducted in both English and Swedish. The school believes in focusing on the learning process, academic achievement, and individual character development. Students learn to take personal responsibility for their progress and for their school environment as well as developing respect for their peers, their teachers, and themselves.
We are now interviewing candidates for a position starting autumn 2008.
Job description:
Science teacher: Language of instruction is English. Middle school science, specifically 8th grade. Students follow a combined science curriculum. Lab groups consist of 15 students and theory lessons 45 minutes twice weekly. The position includes class mentorship.
Qualifications:
We request that you are a certified science instructor preferably with middle school experience. Masterful command of English is obligatory. Fluency of Swedish is valued. We are looking for applicants who are dynamic and enthusiastic teachers capable of using creativity to share their knowledge.
