About us

R&D is a part of Scanias future. We develop connected vehicles, enhanced electrification and self-driving trucks. Our ambition is to continuously lead the industry to the next level of automation but also to meet challenges ahead, with sustainability in focus. We work with improvement and development of intelligent vehicles and advanced vehicle communication. A part of our responsibility is to ensure that the vehicles have access to information that otherwise would not have been available to neither drivers nor sensors.

Our teams at R&D are responsible for the development of features that extends all the way from the cloud to the vehicle itself. We work with something that Scania has never done before, come and lead the development of the future together with us!

The position

In this position you will be a part of handling our most important responsibilities within safety. This includes different tasks such as reviewing, approving products and coaching colleagues with their mindset within safety through their working perspective.

We offer a position where you will handle the balance between safety and availability, with the mandate to assess the safety within the control system in the vehicle. You will ask the question: is this sufficiently safe? This is a position with much interaction with many people in different positions, within and outside Scania. You will be a known and respected figure within this area, both internally and externally, which makes this an challenging and exciting position.

Our team within Safety is a group of ten members with different positions. We value a communicative environment, and work with ensuring that we have a good work life balance.

Scanias is a leading player on the market, which this position will be contributing to.

To succeed in this position we think that you:

• Have senior experience within similar tasks
• Have experience of working within any of this areas:
embedded systems in automotive (preferably trucks), aerospace or similar safety critical products
• Have experience working with risk assessments and mitigation

Since you will work closely with developers, it is important that you have the conceptual understanding of software development, but also understands electronics. Further we also want you to have high integrity, to be analytical and decisive.

We know that we are positioned outside the central of Stockholm, therefore we offer some flexible work hours and travel alternatives:
- Ten minutes walk from our office you have trains from SJ where you can travel to Stockholm central in 20 minutes.
- Scania Go is our internal car-buses, they drive over the whole Scania area to help you move during your whole day.
- We have our own busses in the mornings from Stockholm central and from Liljeholmen, and back again in the afternoon.
