We offer
The position as Cluster Operations Manager offers an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our Operations department in Scandinavia representing three of the Maersk Liner Business brands - Maersk Line, Safmarine and Seagoline.
The team consists of 20 engaged colleagues which you will lead through 4 direct reports.
The operations department manages all of our landside operations in Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Working closely together with the Liner Operations Centre (LOC) in Rotterdam and HQ in Copenhagen, the team ensures the most efficient management of applied assets and our variable spend, while providing competitive inland services to our customers.
Maersk Liner Business in Scandinavia is a top 10 global area for inland activities, and the position thus has significant impact on the future global decisions within the function. The Operations Manager is a member of the Cluster Leadership Team, and directly influences the strategic direction for the liner business activities in Scandinavia.
You will report directly to the Managing Director for Scandinavia.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for our total operational spend and the execution of reliable inland services. Product development is essential based on commercial and operational drivers to deliver cost efficient and attractive products to our customers.
Procurement of services from 3rd party suppliers covering terminals, depots, truck and rail operators. With the team you will work on process improvements both locally and across the region to drive best global practices. You will build solid stakeholder relations in the cluster, with the LOC, HQ and our global service centre in Chennai as well as our external service provides to enable Scandinavia to deliver on our business strategy. Through strong performance management cluster operations will deliver on our lowest cost strategy and the cluster objectives. You have governance of our tariffs on inland servcies to maximize profitability wihtout compromizing our competitive advantage and market share ambitions.
