We use Scala as our language of choice, and our solution is running on AWS and on our own PCI certified secure production environment. The solution is developed in-house and uses several opensource libraries such as Akka.
Our solution has to fulfill the Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements and you will be part of the team that will further develop it. These certification makes it mandatory to follow certain guidelines and design rules.
Fidesmo integrates with several different service providers and as a backend developer you will drive and implement the integration to these service providers. You will have to attend customer meetings and communicate with their development teams during these integrations.
The development team also maintains and operates the services they deploy.
Apart from the backend, you will have the opportunity to work with Java Card solutions running on Fidesmo enabled devices (Secure elements and card applets). You will also support the frontend developers in using the backends REST api's.
The main development team is located in Spain, Madrid and you would act as a information bridge between the Stockholm and Madrid office for technical and development topics.
Fidesmo offers design resources, tutorials, code examples and a SDK in the Developer Portal (developer.fidesmo.com). The Fidesmo app for Android is available from Google Play. Fidesmo also open sources important parts of its platform, one example is the Nordpol library for using NFC on Android.
We are looking for a backend Scala developer that can work independently and sync with a remote team. Be able to share critical information via remote meetings and documentation. Some travel to Spain, Madrid will be necessary.
You should:
Have Scala programming experince
Be very interested in functional programming
Be able to interpret existing API specification and integrate towards them
Attend technical meetings and ask questions
Love to develop yourself as well as your co-workers
Like working in small, flexible teams (Devops with lots of responsibilities)
Hate sloppy processes and love to automate everything
Are comfortable with English as your everyday working language
It is extra merited if you have experience or knowledge in:
Java Card
NFC
Microservices architecture or service-oriented architecture
Software security, vulnerability prevention & encryption
PCI-DSS or other certification
Fidesmo is a technology startup building a platform to distribute contactless services to devices having secure chips. We want users to be able to have all their tickets, keys, payment credentials, and loyalty cards on the device they have selected, be it a smart watch, a bracelet or a card.
A growing number of service providers already offer their services through the Fidesmo platform: payment cards, access control, bitcoin management, IT security, event ticketing and car sharing, plus several more that are currently evaluating the solution.
Finally, Fidesmo has produced its own device, the Fidesmo Card, and discussions are ongoing with manufacturers of wearable devices, chip implants and Bluetooth modules. These wearable companies include a Fidesmo enabled Secure Element into their devices. Fidesmo is backed by a number of high-profile investors.
