Reporting to the Executive Director Northern Europe, Communication Product Sales, in this role you will be part of the ABB Grid Automation global sales team and responsible for supporting and growing existing accounts and developing and securing new business in the energy sector, leveraging the strength of the complete ABB Grid Automation portfolio. You will support existing customers to gain recurring revenue and ensure high customer satisfaction, and partnering with other ABB organizations and third party resellers to maximize sales.

As Sales Manager for Wired Communications, your responsibilities include:

• Creating and implementing the sales strategy and strategic sales & business development initiatives for ABB Wired Communication for HBU Northern Europe, in alignment with the global sales strategy.
• Leading all sales activities, account relationship, forecasting, delivery oversight, strategic account management, pre-sales activities, opportunity development, tracking, RFP response, customer budget cycles, and administrative duties for the respective area of scope.
• Establishing sales targets in alignment with the global sales organization and ensuring sales achievements through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed.
• Achieving sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency.
• Supporting, maintaining and growing relationships with key customers and existing accounts; develop customer relationships within the territory to win new customers and gain recurring revenue from existing customers.
• Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers within the defined geographical areas, and determining plans for acquisition.
• Partnering with ABB's broader sales organizations and 3rd party resellers to build a pipeline for ABB Mission Critical Wired Communications products and systems
• Partnering with Product Managers and Marketing teams to ensure winning go-to-market plans.
• Provide customer and market feedback on market segment intelligence and needs.


We believe that you are a driven and enthusiastic sales person with at least 7 years' proven track-record in sales, account management and market development, focusing on one or more of the following industries: Utilities, Transportation, Oil & Gas, or Authorities. You preferably hold a degree in electrical or telecommunication engineering or related field. If you have an MBA, it's considered an additional an asset. You have experience in sales of telecommunication products/systems and you have know-how of the relevant portfolio. Experience in, and good knowledge of, the Scandinavian market is required.
You are a person with strong selling skills, with the ability to develop new sales strategies and lead related sales efforts, negotiate and successfully conclude deals. You are confident and tenacious, proactive in your approach. You have an entrepreneurial spirit, results-orientation and strong motivation to win customers and gain market share. You combine these traits with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

If you have experience of working in an international matrix and multi-layered organization, this will be beneficial. Fluency in English and at least one of the Scandinavian language local language(s), written and spoken alike, is required. Additionally, you should be willing and able to travel within Scandinavia and potentially within other parts of Northern Europe as necessary for the growth of the ABB business.
