The Company's roots in Offshore Oil & Gas go back 40 years to the Götaverken Arendal Shipyard where the GVA series of semi-submersibles were originally developed and fabricated. Over the years GVA has produced a number of breakthrough design solutions that have re-shaped the industry.
Dina arbetsuppgifterThe purpose of the role is to lead the proposal activities life cycle from prospect identification to closing and contract negotiations. This includes planning, scheduling, and managing all aspects of our competitive proposals. This role will lead the proposal teams through a structured process in a time-pressured environment.
You will report directly to the Marketing & Sales Director and liaises regularly with the Technical Leads and various personnel within the organization in Gothenburg and globally, as well as external stakeholders and bodies.
Responsibilities and tasks:
The Sales Engineer focuses on the most strategic bids for GVAs capture and proposal needs.
Key responsibilities includes;
• Work with customers to understand their needs and capture their requirements.
• Lead the proposal activities
• Participates in or leads collaborative sessions to refine win strategy, competitive assessments, and customer pain points.
• Develops and distributes appropriate proposal-related documentation.
• Establishes and maintains communications among geographically distributed proposal team, including subcontractors, using collaborative tools such as SharePoint.
• Will work with design engineers/engineering department to assist in the design of the technical solutions for the proposals.
• Collaborates with other proposal managers to share best practices and lessons learned.
• Responsible for carrying out financial feasibility studies, market research and planning.
• Responsible for carrying out special studies in areas such as operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, cost effectiveness and competitor analysis.
• Manage and support the process of preparing qualifications, questionnaires, presentations, and other pertinent data to support the business development process.
• Attend and participate in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events.
• Identify necessary marketing material for GVA in the region and develop these in conjunction with GVA Marketing function.
• Cooperate with legal department and insurance departments within KBR.
• Comply with corporate procedures including Code of business conduct and corporate ethic codes.
• Understand and follow GVA/KBR corporate marketing and sales procedures.
Kvalifikationer• Technical understanding of floating offshore units.
• Completion of a B.Sc. or higher within Engineering.
• Approximately 8 years industry experience preferably within Offshore, Oil & Gas or Marine Industry.
• Experience and Proven Success in a Sales Engineer role preferable from offshore industry.
• Client relationship experience including proposal development and sales activities.
• Understanding of industry EPC projects is an advantage
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel.
• Fluent in English and Swedish both written and orally. Additional language skills are an advantage (Ex is Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese).
Övrig informationTo perform well in this position have to be able to combine technical knowledge with sales skills to build strong relationships and collaborative networks with customers and business partners. You have to be able to understand customer needs and have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You are result driven, problem solving oriented and have excellent coordination skills. You can be counted on to exceed goals successfully and is consistently a top performer. You are willing to and are able to travel a few times per year.
