Sales Director, Verifone Sweden

As Sales Director for Verifone Sweden you will lead a team of 11 people and are reporting to the General Manager of Sweden and are a member of the management team of the company.

You are overall responsible for sales and revenue management as well as sales strategies and commercial programs (including but is not limited to go-to-market strategies, sales channels, sales optimization and sales process within Verifone Sweden. The role also includes responsibility to secure client satisfaction through 1st line customer support that also represents a main sales channel.

Responsibilities and duties

• To create, agree and deliver the overall sales strategy for Sweden in conjunction with the corporate directives
• Lead, coordinate and drive sales with a focus on retention, new business opportunities and growth
• To actively participate in the Swedish Management Team to establish and deliver the overall Swedish strategy and result.
• Close collaboration with the Director of Product Management to ensure that Verifone's product portfolio will meet market and customer expectations
• To be responsible for the delivery of the overall revenue, including hardware, professional services and services business areas, ensuring targets for revenue and growth are accurately forecasted and delivered
• To collaborate with corporate (mainly Nordic) in the strategic development/ and piloting of solutions to help develop the go to market strategy, shaping the Swedish strategic plans
• To personally develop senior level relationships with customers and partners to deliver sales opportunities, increase market share in existing markets and maximize new business development opportunities and to maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction and position Verifone as a key long-term business partner
• To actively seek out market and competitor intelligence in order to position Verifone consistently as the â'supplier of choice'
• To provide leadership and guidance within the Swedish market ensuring that tactical and long-term sales strategies, account plans and objectives exist for key client/s
• To provide commercial leadership for contract negotiations and ensure that robust contractual arrangements are in place for sales and ongoing services
• To ensure that the corporate processes relating to bid review/approval processes, sales reporting and pipeline management tools are utilized and maintained to the highest standards
• To lead, manage, coach and mentor all employees within the sales team to ensure high levels of performance and to develop â'new talent' within the Company for the future
• To set and agree objectives to ensure achievement of results and focus and motivation of employees. To monitor performance against targets on a regular basis; taking remedial action as necessary
• To participate in the appropriate forums and events in order to raise the profile of Verifone in Sweden
• To create a personal â'network' across the Verifone worldwide organization to ensure effective use of existing resources and have rapid access to these resources, when required
• To complete ad hoc duties and tasks allocated through line management chain (or corporate) from time to time

Professional background and experience

Must have:

• Significant experience gained ideally through Hardware, Software or Professional Services. Ideally including the subscription based business model
• Experienced Manager/Director, Head of Business Development, Commercial Director
• Management experience and strong leadership skills
• Understanding on how the ongoing digitalization will change the everyday life for the clients and Verifone
• Experience from financial market, preferably from acquiring or card issuing
• Action oriented in combination with high analytic skill

Desirable/advantageous:

• Used to working in a highly result-oriented and performance driven environment with a focus on excellence
• A creative strategist with a proven track record stimulating and leading commercial change to drive results
• Experience and core knowledge of systems and of introducing sophisticated systems and new best practices into retail banking

Formal education

• Academic degree (in a technical/engineering and/or business management study) or equivalent skills/knowledge gained through work experience.
