About the job
You're responsible for the overall sales area strategy and you take the lead in the development of sales, services and marketing activities connected to our offering. By ensuring strong cross-functional collaborations in the wider organization, you contribute to both planning and realizing our strategic direction of delivering strong sales and profitable growth. You also make sure that we drive common synergies, constant improvements and are compliant with the regulations and frameworks that apply - both within the Sandvik Group and with local authorities. This includes being a strong advocate in establishing a safety-first culture and leading the way as a true role model for our organizational values. Naturally, you drive performance management and ensure that we attract, retain and develop exceptional people in all areas.
In all of this, the relationship with, and understanding of, our customers is very important. You bring a customer-centric, value-based and agile perspective, well adapted to customer and market needs, and you look at new business opportunities and ways to extend our current offering to always be the customers' top choice.
You report to the Vice President and Head of Global Sales, are an important part of our Global Sales Management team and lead your own Sales Area Management team. The location for this position is flexible within the sales area or all of Europe, and travel is included in your job.
Who you are?
We're looking for someone with a master's degree in either Engineering or Business, complementing this with knowledge and expertise within different key aspects of the industry. You have previous experience within mining, construction or any other similar sector, and of leading larger sales and service line organizations in a B2B environment. Your substantial knowledge of business development, strategic planning, compliance and operational performance is proven with many years in the industry. Your core and sales leadership abilities are of great value - you exceed in leading and supporting others from different cultural backgrounds. You appreciate and recognize the importance of cost control and maximization of profit potential. You're require to have excellent verbal and written skills in English, whilst understanding of local languages are advantageous.
You're a business professional with high integrity and well-developed leadership skills - someone who believes in diversity and inclusion and who inspires, mentors and manages people to perform at their very best. Your track record includes managing key accounts, and you have extensive knowledge of the local business culture. You're skilled in driving performance management and leading the way in global organizations, with and without solid reporting lines. You're also experienced in taking full ownership of profits and losses, networking with multiple stakeholders and negotiating at senior level.
