The Environment, Safety & Health Division at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Safety Training & Licensing Officer.

Description of directorate/division

The Environment, Safety & Health (ESH) Division, reporting to the Associate Director of ESH and Quality supports, monitors and assures the implementation of ESS policies, rules, processes, objectives as well as best practices at all levels of the organisation in ESH matters. The ESH division is specifically responsible for the safety training framework as well as supporting the licensing work towards SSM.

Description of main responsibilities

The position as Safety & Licensing Officer is two-folded. It consist of being administrative support to the Safety Training team and to the Licensing team, and to manage, provide guidance and expertise within appointed areas.

The position includes the tasks and responsibilities as described below.

Safety Training

• support the adaptation to the new Learning Management System (LMS)
• act as an expert user of the Learning Management System (LMS) and in that role give support to users of the LMS
• facilitate, perform reviews and for relevant areas, develop material for safety training cources
• manage the procurement of training resources
• coordinate and provide support to the instructors and learners
• act as the administrative responsible and official contact person for the complete coordination of training sessions. This includes poll executions, session scheduling, learner and instructor invitation, session material and resource preparation and being the contact person for the time during the session execution
• facilitate Certificate issuing and training data archiving
• develop and manage the framework of evaluating training sessions and training providers as a part of Safety Training quality control. This includes data aggregation, data analysis, action identification and stakeholder reporting.
• participate in continuous improvement of Safety Training work flows

Licensing

As a member of the licensing team, you will:

• develop necessary procedures within the ESS Management System for submission of licensing documents
• support and administrate the submissions to regulatory authorities
• perform analysis and coordinate response(s) to regulatory authorities
• review of the ESS documentation to be submitted to authorities for completeness, coherency and consistency
• plan, coordinate and do follow-up of activities related to regulatory submissions
• structure and communicate any regulatory information within the organization

Qualifications

You have a well-developed ability to listen, consult others and to communicate proactively with a high level of integrity. Building wide and effective networks of contacts both inside and outside the organisation comes naturally to you. We believe that you have experience of performing similar work for a large-scale research facility. Furthermore, you have documented education on at least a Bachelor level.

Your English skills need to be very good in both verbal and written form. Experience of working in an international collaborative environment would be an asset.

Duration & Location
The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
