Safety System Engineer - Powertrain Engineering Controls & Calibration

Powertrain Engineering at CEVT is responsible for the development of transmissions and electric propulsion systems and the controls associated with these systems. In the area, the Controls & Calibration unit is responsible for the development and industrialization of the controls for new powertrain systems. These systems are the main future and global technologies for the Geely Group. They range from present combustion engines into new energy concepts. The controls & calibration development is carried out in-house using state-of-the-art methods.

To strengthen our team for future challenges and projects, we are now looking for a System Engineer in Safety.

You will be part of a strong team focused on leading cutting-edge technology development with the end customer in focus.

Role Summary

As Safety System Engineer in Powertrain Engineering Controls & Calibration you are responsible for the system engineering in safety related areas. You are working closely with the other functions in Powertrain Engineering, developing the next generation of powertrain controls for conventional and new energy powertrains.

Core responsibilities:

- Perform Hazard and risk analysis
- Identify and classify safety goals
- Write functional and technical safety requirements
- Support in creation of hardware and software safety requirements
- Support in creation of hardware/software architecture and system design
- Conduct Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and Fault tree analysis (FTA)
- Lead and participate in system safety tests at unit, system and vehicle level as well as test expeditions
- Create and keep track of functional safety work products (such as FSC, TSC, Safety Case, etc.)

Supplementary responsibilities:

- Be a supplier point of contact for functional safety-related matters
- Support in creation of safety-related contracts such as DIA and SS-SOW
- Contribute in development of supporting processes for ISO26262 compliance (change management, aftermarket, tools)
- Follow the future standards in the area and preparation steps needed
- Provide basic training in the area for the team

Requirements:

- Have M.Sc. in Mechatronics, Control engineering, Electronics, Vehicle engineering or similar
- Good knowledge in ISO26262 and experience in implementation of ISO26262
- 3 years of relevant experience as an automotive safety engineer
- Good knowledge in Physics, Mechatronics, Mechanical engineering, Control engineering, Powertrains, Vehicle dynamics, System modelling, and Electronics
- Good understanding of system development of embedded real-time systems
- Good understanding of vehicle customer functions
- Good understanding of model based development
- Knowledge in usage of tools like Matlab/Simulink, C coding, INCA, Canoe is meritorious
- Ability to travel
- Driver's license B
